The Mermaid Secret for Hair Growth

The Mermaid Secret for Hair Growth about undefined

The ocean has given us an abundance of nutritional powerhouses to help us remain strong and healthy as we age. Perhaps the most popular is the omega-3 fatty acids in salmon which, due to their inflammation-fighting properties, can be a Godsend for joint pain, memory loss and even poor heart and artery health.

But when it comes to your hair, there’s fewer natural treatments available to help, and even fewer still from the ocean—or so that’s what researchers thought.

Today, we’ll take a closer look at several deep-sea nutrients that can help just about anyone concerned with hair loss.

Hair loss isn’t just about losing your hair. It’s also about losing your self-confidence. And your disappointment grows when expensive mainstream hair loss treatments – like hair plugs or prescription drugs – don’t always work or carry undesirable side effects. While wigs, hairpieces, and hair extensions provide only temporary, not-so-natural results. As for supplements? Effective nutritional solutions are hard to find, at least until researchers turned to the sea…

Deep-sea nutrients increase hair count, thickness, and health

Research shows that the Inuit population – an indigenous group living in the Arctic – is at the top of the list when it comes to having a full, thick, healthy head of hair. One reason for their superior hair has to do with their diet. These folks get most of their food from the Arctic Sea, including oysters, salmon, and even sharks.[1]

These animals are rich in marine proteins that can encourage hair growth and stop hair shedding. Recent research demonstrates just how effective marine proteins from shark and oysters can be…

In one study, researchers gave a group of 60 women with thinning hair either marine protein supplements or a placebo twice daily for 90 days. All participants experienced hair loss due to poor diet, stress, or hormonal issues. But the marine protein group saw HUGE improvements!

In fact, they experienced:

  • Hair shedding decrease by 40 percent.
  • Hair thickness increase by 32 percent.
  • Overall healthier hair.[2]

In another randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial, researchers gave women with thinning hair either a marine protein supplement or a placebo for six months. Ultimately, they found that the marine protein supplements made hair for 60 percent of the women thicker with significantly less shedding than the placebo group![3]

Even better? In both studies, women also self-reported:

  • Increased scalp coverage
  • Improved hair strength
  • Better hair volume
  • Added hair thickness.[4]

Marine Proteins Work for Men, too!

In one placebo-controlled trial of men with male pattern baldness – a condition caused by hormonal changes – participants taking marine proteins twice daily saw significant improvements in their quality of life in just 90 days.

At 180 days, the men experienced:

  • Increased hair count
  • Increased total hair density
  • Improved results on a hair pull test (fewer hairs came out when pulled).[5]

This means marine proteins can even help men experiencing hormone-related hair loss.

What are these deep-sea proteins? A unique combination Scandinavian scientists call AminoMar.

AminoMar Supports Your Natural Hair Growth Cycle

Scandinavian scientists developed AminoMar using shark cartilage and deep-sea mollusk or oyster extracts in the 1980s. Since then, 12 clinical trials have been conducted to prove its hair growth properties in nourishing thinning hair.

The research revealed that this combination could significantly increase dermal papilla cells—a group of stem cells located at the bottom of the hair follicle that are believed to play a key role in hair formation, growth, and renewal. AminoMar is available as a dietary supplement formulation called Viviscal.

But it’s not just AminoMar…

Studies show that numerous marine-derived compounds can help promote hair growth. There’s been research showing the effectiveness of all supplements sea-derived from a brown seaweed harvested off the coast of Japan called Ecklonia cava (which is shown to increase the growth rate of dermal papilla cells and their growth factors)[6] to mackerel-derived fermented fish oil (which stimulates the first phase of hair growth called the anagen phase, or active growth phase which can last two to seven years.)[7]

Our Takeaway

For many people thinning hair and hair loss is a normal part of aging. But this research shows that it doesn’t have to be. If you are a loved one is concerned about hair thinning or baldness, try one of the formulas or ingredients mentioned in today’s article and see if they can help you.

Each of these ingredients is available in numerous formulations at health food stores and online.
